Six short stories…
I found this book (along with Tales from Portents) to be so rewarding, thanks to the short story format. Being able to bring back threats from the earlier collection, to flesh out character dynamics, and provide background for other cast members was a lot of fun.
It’s part of the reason I’m working on Coventry the way I am, with short stories to build the world and the characters before diving into the main series.
There are some key moments in this collection. No spoilers, but man, being able to go back and relive some of these stories again was a treat. Everything builds to Book Five organically.
