Army in the Obelisk in June

I wanted a strong start for both the Greystone serial and the Patreon page. The first month showcased what the page will have to offer with a good-sized chunk of Army in the Obelisk.

Going forward, releases will still be coming out on Wednesday, but they will no longer be entire parts every week. Part VI kicks off this week but will be split up over the course of three weeks and Part VII will launch at the end of the month.

Why the change? 

Mostly for my sanity, if I’m being honest. It was always meant to come out over the course of a whole year. I’ve truncated that by offering the first five parts in full right off the bat. This gives me some breathing room so I can have some great content ready to surprise and delight you at the end of this year and the start of 2025.

Army in the Obelisk Release Schedule

• June 5th – Part VI Chapters 1 – 3
• June 12th – Part VI Chapters 4 – 6
• June 19th – Part VI Chapters 7 – 8
• June 26th – Part VII Chapters 1 – 2

Part VI is called Stalked by Serket, which introduces another goddess from Egyptian mythology to trouble our heroes. This time, the focus is on Loren and Standish in the second section of three that explains their evolving relationship through the Greystone series. (Part IX closes this out with a bang.)

I’ll be talking about Part VII at the end of the month, but I will say it has one of my favorite villains in the piece.

I hope you enjoyed the opening salvo of Army in the Obelisk last week. I wanted to jump right into the action and thought the Nehebkau was such a cool visual for the threat against Soriya. Djuhuty might be my favorite character in the entire book, and you’ll see why as the story expands over the course of the twelve parts.

Army in the Obelisk Part Two is available now!

The second part brings Loren and Soriya together as the two try to set a trap for the thieves. With the help of Patricia Fleming, our heroes believe they have a way to draw out the enemy, but will it be enough to win the day?

These eight chapters also feature some happy returns. There’s Ruiz, of course, but also Rufus Mathers and a surprise guest at the end that will cause Loren some grief going forward.

The Patreon page is live! This has been a long time coming, something I’ve been trying to build up for years, and am finally pulling the trigger on. I’ve always wanted a single spot to showcase not only my writing, but offer exclusive behind-the-scenes content, cover reveals, and more.

What is Army in the Obelisk?

An army is rising…

Thefts of ancient Egyptian artifacts draw Detective Greg Loren and Soriya Greystone into a centuries-old mystery. Standing in their way are mythic creatures and god-like beings, all carrying out orders from a shadowy group attempting to reclaim a bygone era.

At the center of their cause is an obelisk of unknown origin which guards an ancient power within.

Loren, still wary of Soriya’s world, turns to Egyptologist Patricia Fleming for help. As the mystery deepens, so does Loren’s attraction—feelings he never imagined possible after the loss of his wife.

Navigating the dangers all around them, Soriya and Loren must overcome their differences to find a way to piece together the mystery and stop the threat of the obelisk before its power is unleashed upon the city of Portents.
