It’s been a whirlwind of a summer. Why does that always happen? Anyway, I’ve been plugging along, so let’s get to the writing update, shall we?
Greystone
SERIES COMPLETED!
It’s insane to write those words. Last update, I mentioned that the draft for Heart of Forever was finished. I spent the entire month of June and half of July editing the hell out of it. Every night, chapter by chapter, I tweaked and ripped apart and rewrote and, yeah… it was a lot.
But it’s done. Heart of Forever is set, and with it, the entire Greystone Saga is complete.
It might be my favorite book ever. I love every interaction, every action beat, and the way it comes together at the end? You’re going to enjoy this one.
Coventry
We celebrated Christmas in July on the Patreon page last month with a recap of everything Coventry that has come out to date. Why? I needed to remind myself how much fun it is to write in this world. Both By Starlight and Hope’s Flame are now written, edited, and ready for release this December.
Hope’s Flame, especially, was a treat to produce. It takes an It’s a Wonderful Life turn, but with a dystopian twist. The final conversation between Warren and Eric in the story might be one of my favorites from anything I’ve ever written. Just a joy to revisit these characters year after year.
I really should sit down and start the main series. Maybe after DSA Season Three.
Hench
What’s this now? Last week, I started to revisit a book I drafted way back in 2014 in the hopes of offering a standalone novel next year. It’s very early days and I’m still working through it all. (It’s over 125,000 words. Crazy huge.) We’ll see if anything comes of it, but I loved the concept so much. It’s also in first-person, which is something I haven’t experimented with before. Lots of new aspects to consider.

Ten-Year Anniversary
This month marks my ten-year anniversary as a published author. Ten. Freaking. Years. That’s madness. I swear it was only yesterday I was typing away on my 11-inch Asus tablet in my basement, wondering what the hell I was doing and if every decision I made was the wrong one.
I still ask those same questions sometimes.
But I wouldn’t change a thing. This has been a dream of mine for so long. To still be able to do it, and to still enjoy it as much as I do, is something I will never take for granted. I cherish every second of the writing process. (Yes. Even self-editing… Now, marketing? Not so much…)
Thank you to everyone who has followed these posts, who has put up with my pitch for Greystone and DSA, and listened to me rant about my process. Your support, your words of kindness, and your sheer enthusiasm for the books, makes this all possible. I would not be here without you.
